Porsche Horsepower – 2025 Model Guide

Performance is synonymous with the Porsche brand. True, you also receive healthy doses of luxury and style, but it’s the performance that makes those vehicles authentically Porsche. But with a wide range of models and variants, horsepower output and other performance stats can be a lot to keep track of. That’s why we’ve put together this guide, a one-stop reference for the entire Porsche range.

Porsche 718 Horsepower
The Porsche 718 goes by two names, the 718 Cayman for hardtop models and 718 Boxster for convertibles. Mechanically, the two are essentially the same, offering the same engine choices and power outputs.
But no matter which version of the 718 you go for, you get a seriously exciting sports car. Originally built as the spiritual successor to the 550 race cars from the 1950s, the 718 incorporates a mid-engine design, resulting in ideal balance and refined handling. Every variant is a joy to drive, but if there is one thing you can always count on from Porsche – you have plenty of options.

Porsche 911 Horsepower
To call the 911 an icon is an understatement. Though it wasn’t the first model produced by Porsche, it was such a runaway success that it became intrinsic to the Porsche marque. Today, this legendary rear-engine sportscar is available in an array of variants, including race-ready models designed for the track and the heritage-infused S/T. The flat-6 engine is as much a part of the 911’s identity as the engine’s placement behind the rear axle, and it can send power to either just the rear wheels or all four wheels. There are three different choices of roof; a hardtop, a traditional soft top convertible, or a Targa top, which is a style of roof that the 911 first introduced to the world. Since its introduction, the 911 has defined what a sports car should be, and that’s as true today as it was then.

Porsche Taycan Horsepower
The first all-electric Porsche was also, predictably, an absolute game-changer for the world of EVs. Not only is it fast, (seriously fast), but thanks to some clever engineering, it also raises the bar on handling for the entire electric vehicle segment. The highly advanced EV architecture of the Taycan means that it charges faster than any other EV on the market today, giving you more time to enjoy the Taycan out on the road. Every variant of the Taycan is available with the standard sedan body, but Taycan buyers can also select the wagon-bodied Sport Turismo, or the Cross Turismo, a wagon built for light off-roading.

Porsche Panamera Horsepower
Adding a bit of practicality to the Porsche lineup, the Panamera gives you generous trunk space behind what Porsche calls a ‘sportscar for 4’, to account for the generous seating for two additional passengers in the rear. The Panamera redefined the sport sedan at its debut, and continues to set the standard for the segment. The Panamera is available with quite a few powertrain options, including multiple versions of the available plug-in hybrid drivetrain. All-wheel drive is available, and the Panamera Sport Turismo gives you a wagon body for even more practicality. Adaptive air suspension comes standard, and optional four-wheel steering gives you even more immediate handling.

Porsche Macan Horsepower
While there are plenty of compact SUVs on the market, some even boasting impressive power, the only compact SUV that’s a Porsche is the Macan. That’s important, because it explains why the automotive press has been in love with the Macan since it was first introduced. If you’re looking for an SUV that has the feel of a sports car, Porsche is the only way to go, and the Macan delivers in a way that you might not have realized was possible. Porsche was a pioneer in performance AWD technology, and the technology has only gotten better. The Macan is also available in Electric form, with a lineup of variants every bit as robust as the conventional version.

Porsche Cayenne Horsepower
The Cayenne was the first Porsche SUV, and from the beginning, it has impressed the press and public alike. This is because, just like with the Macan, the Cayenne manages to actually translate the sports car experience into an SUV. The Cayenne is available with both gasoline and plug-in hybrid drivetrains, and all of them are impressively quick. The Cayenne is offered with either a standard or coupe body, with a swept-back roofline. Nearly every variant is available in either body style, with the sole exception of the range-topping Turbo GT, which is only available as a coupe. When you want to drive something that feels like a sports car, but handles dirt and snow and like an offroader, the Cayenne is for you.
