About The Porsche Cayenne Electric
The Cayenne Electric is just as big a leap forward as the original Cayenne was at its debut. The Cayenne changed how we all thought about SUVs, proving that it was possible to have an SUV that handled like a sports car. Years after, the Cayenne was the first production Porsche vehicle to get a hybrid drivetrain, and now, the Cayenne Electric is here to show that you can have sportscar performance in a vehicle that’s also capable enough to tow a trailer and pick-up the kids at school. The Cayenne Electric takes everything that made the original such a game-changer for Porsche and turns it up even higher.
What The Critics Say
“The Cayenne also inherits the excellent Active Ride system from the Taycan and Panamera, and the body control and ability to soak up bad roads are just as magical in the Cayenne as in the lower-riding Porsches.” – Car & Driver
“The Turbo turns Spain’s narrow rollercoaster roads into honest rollercoaster thrills. All four tires scramble for traction as you unwind the steering wheel from a 30-mph hairpin and boot the accelerator. The 5,850-pound big dog charges hard enough out of corners that it’s easy to scare yourself.” – MotorTrend
Porsche Cayenne Electric Features

Groundbreaking Drivetrain
The Cayenne Electric was making news before the world had ever even seen the final production version, and that’s because it’s the first ever EV to have available wireless charging, in the form of a floor plate that you can have installed in your garage. But Porsche is never satisfied with just one groundbreaking detail, so the Cayenne Electric also has the highest DC fast charging rate of any EV currently on the market, 400 kW, compared to the 350 kW achieved by the second-fastest EV charging available. That’s enough to charge its batteries from 10 to 80 percent in just 16 minutes, an incredible feat. To go with all of this impressive charging is some impressive performance. The base model comes with a pair of electric motors that produce a combined 435 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, good for a 4.5-second 0-60 time. For more power, you can move up to the Cayenne Turbo Electric, which produces an incredible 1,139 horsepower and 1,106 lb-ft of torque, which totals up to a 0-60 time of just 2.4 seconds.

Luxury Interior
The Cayenne Electric truly shines in its ability to mix supercar performance with everyday usability and comfort. The trademark Porsche attention to detail can be seen throughout the cabin, with one prime example being the infotainment touchscreen. The screen is angled in such a way as to blend in better with the dash, rather than stick out from it, but without asking you live with a smaller screen that’s more difficult to see and use. It’s the first example of this particular type of screen, on a vehicle that’s full of firsts. This same kind of thinking has gone into the design of the whole interior, and that’s why it’s all so comfortable and so easy to live with every day. Of course, Porsche is also famous for long lists of customization options, and the Cayenne Electric is no exception, complete with multiple high-end stereo options and the ability to choose stitching and seat belt color, along with a lot more.

Cutting-Edge Technology
Advanced technology is what defines the Cayenne Electric, down to the HD-Matrix Design LED headlights, which adapt to conditions in order to provide the best visibility possible at all times. Adaptive air suspension comes standard, giving you a ride that is both comfortable and minimizes body roll in corners at the same time. Available Porsche Active Ride further enhances this with active chassis control that makes for absolutely unbeatable handling. And as impressive as the charging and power is, there’s actually one more EV first contained in the advanced electric drivetrain. For Turbo models, the rear motor comes with direct oil cooling to alleviate the heat produced when generating such enormous power. That also means that the Cayenne Electric doesn’t need the usual two-speed rear transmission in order to hit its top track speed of 162 mph.
