Signs & Symptoms of Poor A/C Performance

Generally speaking, it’s pretty easy to figure out whether or not there’s an issue with your air conditioning. That said, sometimes there are early warning signs that let you catch an issue before it becomes a bigger one. So be on the lookout for any of these warning signs:

  • A/C only blowing slightly cool air
  • An unpleasant smell is coming from the A/C vents
  • Weak airflow from A/C vents
  • A/C only functions when the vehicle is in motion
  • Water drops or condensation collecting in the footwells of your vehicle

Air Conditioning Repair Service in Cincinnati, Ohio

Air Conditioning Freon Recharge

Air conditioning is a sealed system, and the refrigerant inside that system (once called “Freon”) doesn’t wear out or otherwise become less effective over time. That said, like any sealed system – leaks can occur, and when they do, those leaks need to be repaired, and then the system refilled with refrigerant for your A/C to be effective once again.

Air Conditioning Compressor Repair and Replacement

The air conditioning system cools the cabin air by moving refrigerant around a loop, absorbing heat from the air in the cabin, and dispersing it to the outside air. The compressor is essentially a pump that keeps the refrigerant moving, and it is therefore an absolutely vital piece of equipment.

Air Conditioning Condenser Repair and Replacement

The condenser is the part usually located next to the vehicle’s radiator that looks itself like a small radiator. Refrigerant is pumped from the compressor into the condenser, where outside air cools the compressed gas.

Air Conditioning Evaporator Repair and Replacement

The last major part of the air conditioning system is the evaporator. This is like a small version of the condenser, which works in the opposite way. A fan pushes cabin air through the coil, where the cooled coils of the evaporator absorb the heat, which, in turn cools down the cabin air.
